Why Hotel Prices Frustrated Me So Much

Every time I booked anything travel related, I would end up checking five different apps and websites just to make sure I wasn’t overpaying. It became normal. Honestly, I was fed up with how much time it took just to feel like I had found a decent deal. Until I found this new site.

How I Found Travel Advantage (And Why I Was Sceptical)

Initially a friend of mine Fran, reached out to me raving about this site she was now using to get really cheap travel. I was sceptical at first since it sounded too good to be true. So I told her no. I watched in the background for 6 months and actually saw the savings she was getting and other perks which came with it. Eventually I reached out to her and said I would give it a whirl to test it out. Since then it has gradually replaced most of the other travel apps I used before.

What Travel Advantage Actually Is

Travel Advantage is a paid membership platform that gives access to discounted travel pricing. It mainly focuses on hotels but also many other aspects of travel as well, like flights, cruises and experiences.

How Travel Advantage Helped Me Save Money on Hotels

Since using it, I’ve found cheaper rates on hotels and flights than I was seeing on some of the usual booking sites. Although not every deal is lower every single time. On top of that, every booking earns you points, which you can put toward future trips and save even more if you travel regularly.

The Downsides You Should Know Before Joining

Now, like most sites there is always a downside. Being totally honest the only one I can see since using it would be the membership cost. Unlike subscription services like Netflix or Amazon where your money goes into the void, Travel Advantage changes it into loyalty points that can be used toward future travel.

The downside is you can’t use all the points all at once, they will instead be split over various bookings. Once you’ve been in long enough to unlock full point usage, it becomes much easier to heavily reduce the cost of a trip and in some cases cover most of it.

Who Travel Advantage Is Best For

Travel Advantage is not a site for everyone. If you travel regularly or take multiple trips a year, I can see real value in it. If you only travel once a year, it may not make sense financially.
